Football comes first, however, as millions tune in to watch their favorite teams battle it out, and the sport culminates in football’s newest event, the Super Bowl!
If you are a football fan, you can show your love for the sport in many ways. Even if you’re a big fan, drawing a football correctly can be more complicated than you think! This step-by-step guide to drawing a football in just 7 steps will enable you to praise your love of the sport with your creativity!
How to Draw A Football
Step 1
Balloons have an exceptional shape. In this first step of our tutorial on drawing a balloon, we will prepare a shape to help you outline.
For this step, you will need a light-colored pencil to draw a figure that will help you in a future step. Carefully draw a horizontal oval shape with the pencil.
This can be tricky, so take it slow, and you’ll get there! If you are having difficulty, you can print an oval shape and then use that to draw an oval for your design.
Step 2
In the previous step, we used a pencil, but I recommend starting with a darker-colored pen or pencil for this element of your football drawing.
Using the oval from the previous step, carefully draw the top of the balloon.
Try making it more pointed once it’s on the side, as a football isn’t a perfect oval.
Ideally, the system should follow the sequence of the oval to the end and then deviate slightly from the line of the oval.
Step 3
For step 3 of this How to Draw a Football tutorial, you can repeat the same process as in the previous step, only this time, and it will be mirrored.
Once you’ve repeated the previous step for the bottom part of your football design, you’re ready to move on to the next step!
Step 4
You’ve finished the outline of your balloon, so for the next part, we’ll start on the inside of the balloon.
First, draw a curved line from each end of the balloon. Be sure to leave some space in between as we’ll draw the points in the next step.
Step 5
In the next step of our tutorial on drawing a football, we will finish the stitching. To do this, draw a series of small flat ovals between the two lines from the previous step.
Once you have created the row of stitches, carefully draw a line between them that matches the lines in front of the stitching.
It may sound not easy, but it becomes much easier with the reference image as a guide!
Step 6
Your soccer drawing is almost done, and it looks great! Before the final step, let’s draw some final details to bring it to life.
In our image, we’ve drawn a curved stripe near each bottle pint, which makes for a nice finishing touch.
Beyond our final details, you can add fun details that would go well with your drawing!
You could draw your favorite soccer team’s logo on your ball to show your support!
You can also draw a cute background to complement your design, and there are many other options.
Step 7
Now that you’re done with the final details, it’s time to have fun coloring your football drawing to bring it to life.
We used a classic brown color scheme for our example, and while it’s a great look to go with, feel free to use whatever colors you like!
Footballs come in all styles and colors, so there is no limit to what you can create with this design.
If you’ve drawn extra details or backgrounds, you can add more excellent details by coloring those parts.
This could be an excellent opportunity to use artistic tools or media you don’t use often!
There are many ways to experiment and enjoy, from acrylic paints and watercolors to crayons, pencils, and crayons.
