In the year 1825, a French inventor using heliography process took a picture of an engraving. But using the camera, Joseph Nicephone Niepce, a French inventor had clicked the oldest photo in the year 1826 or 1827. This makes the photograph 190 years old. He captured the outside view from his window in Burgundy, France.

He has taken this photograph with the help of camera obscura which it took him eight long hours. In the year 1963, Ransom center has acquired it to permanently exhibit at the University of Texas. Robert Cornelius who is an American photographer captured this photograph of himself in the year 1839 becoming the first portrait in the history of photography. In the modern age, this portrait is known as the selfie.

First group selfie photograph:
In the year 1920, the first group selfie was taken by a group of 5 men. When the photo was taken the cameras can be held in hands and click pictures.
